Working effectively with international colleagues
The way that we conduct and present ourselves and relate to others within our own culture, in both a business and social context, is not always valued or acceptable in another culture.
Today’s managers not only need to learn and understand the tools and skills to be successful in their own environment, but face the additional challenge of developing greater awareness and sensitivity towards cross-cultural issues and hidden aspects of culture encountered when managing and negotiating with colleagues in different cultural surroundings.
This scheduled series of half day interactive open programmes will enable participants to create a foundation for the vital skills and confidence required, and share best practices and experiences with peers, for more effective business dealings within an international context.
The workshops will:
- provide an overview of the country from a political, social and business perspective
- examine the business culture and etiquette of the country and region from a practical viewpoint including management styles, conducting meetings, negotiating techniques, working relationships, entertainment and attitudes towards foreigners
- advise on how to build effective communication strategies in order to project the right image and generate respect and trust with people of other cultures around the world including gestures and body language, correct forms of address, remote communication and creating an impactful first impression
The Result
Delegates will have gained essential skills and developed a personal style to work sensitively and effectively with colleagues and clients from different cultures.
Format
These half day programmes are regularly scheduled throughout the year and will be open to participants from any company or organisation.
Who should attend?
Anyone who could benefit from a greater understanding of the business culture and practices when operating with colleagues or clients in high profile countries or regions.
